Paragon Bank is pleased to announce that Barbara Harris, Vice President — Mortgage Underwriter, was selected by her peers as one of the two Team Member of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2025.
Each quarter, Paragon Bank recognizes an employee for their outstanding performance in demonstrating Paragon’s values. At the end of the year, a Team Member of the Year is selected from the previous Quarter winners.
Harris, who has been with Paragon for 11 years, spends her days reviewing mortgage applicant’s applications, including their income, assets and credit history, to ensure all is in line with lender & investor guidelines. She assesses the risk of the loan to the lender by evaluating the applicant’s credit worthiness and their ability to repay the loan.
For Harris, her favorite part of working at Paragon is the intentionality around community engagement and having a balanced/healthy career and personal life.
Community engagement is such an important thread that sets Paragon apart. There are endless opportunities to provide a helping hand, time, and resources.
“As humbled as I am to be doing something I truly enjoy I never have to sacrifice my personal time,” she said. “As busy as my 6 ½ year old keeps me I never have to worry about telling her ‘I apologize but Mommy cannot make it or be there due to work’.”
When she’s not in the office, Harris enjoys spending time with her family. They love to travel and create beautiful memories.
“With my husband, Jeremy, I live for our date nights and with our daughter, Harper Rose I enjoy going on new adventures,” she explained. “She keeps life interesting, for sure.”
