Paragon Grants 13th Wish for Make-A-Wish Mid-South
05-25-18
Paragon Bank worked with Make-A-Wish Mid-South to grant 13 year-old Bren her wish of going to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii. This is the 13th consecutive year Paragon has worked with Make-A-Wish Mid-South to grant the wish of a local child or teen. The ceremony took place Tuesday, May 8, at Paragon Bank’s Fountain Place Banking Center.
“At Paragon, we continuously strive to serve our community, and the Make-A-Wish events are truly magical,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “Being a part of bringing joy and hope to a child who has gone through so much at such a young age is something we look forward to each year.”
To surprise Bren, the Paragon team created an island oasis, including magnificent tropical underwater animals and led her through a series of game show-themed events. Bren and her family played various games to win prizes and find clues with the grand prize of learning that she was headed to the Aulani Resort.
As part of the bank’s Assisting the Community Through Service (A.C.T.S.) program, Paragon employees donated their time and efforts to prepare for and take part in the event. Additional donations were provided by Chick-fil-A at Poplar and Massey, Lensrentals.com, One & Only BBQ, Sam’s Club, Tug’s and Wang’s Mandarin House.
“Paragon Bank has been a huge supporter of Make-A-Wish, granting 13 wishes over more than 10 years,” said Amanda Wiig, Communications Manager at Make-A-Wish Mid-South. “The employees are so passionate about the organization and go above and beyond to make each and every wish kid feel uniquely loved and incredibly special at their wish reveal! It’s truly passionate companies and employees, like Paragon Bank, in our city that transform the lives of children with critical illnesses.”
About Make-A-Wish Mid-South
Make-A-Wish Mid-South was founded in 1986, by a local businessman who recognized the need for an organization to help sick children in the Mid-South.
