Paragon Employees Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity DeKalb County

Paragon Bank’s Small Business Capital Group employee’s recently spent a day using some of their ACTS (Assisting the Community Through Service) time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County. The team volunteered with the organization’s “A Brush of Kindness” program which focuses on repairs, yard work and maintenance for elderly or handicapped homeowners.
“At Paragon, we value giving back to and building relationships with community members,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “Our Small Business Capital Group was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity to make a positive impact.”
Paragon team members including Teresa Boozer, Sylvia Bordeaux, Doug Cullinan, Mike Edwards, Brian Kuntz, Eric Larson, Adrian Lebron, Irene Marin, Tye Massey, Kerri Morrin, Carl Sakony, Robert Shaw, Susan Smith, Andy Taylor, Carolyn Taylor, George Taylor and Charles Yorke spent the day power washing, painting and cleaning the yard of a local homeowner.
Through the ACTS program, every Paragon employee is granted 40 hours of paid time to support nonprofit organizations in the community. Since the program’s inception in 2008, employees have volunteered at a variety of local, regional and national nonprofits.

Habitat for Humanity DeKalb County is an official Georgia county affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global nonprofit housing and community development organization. Since 1988, the DeKalb has provided affordable homes for 67 DeKalb County families and home repair services for 173 seniors, Veterans, and/or disabled residents.
