Paragon Bank Promotes 10-Year Employees to First Vice Presidents

Paragon Bank has announced the promotions of Cheryl Shackelford and Tracey Thesmar to First Vice Presidents, both of whom report to Lewis Perkins, Chief Financial Officer at Paragon Bank.

“We are honored to have such loyal, hardworking individuals as Cheryl and Tracey on the Paragon team, as they work diligently to provide the best solutions to fit the needs of our customers,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “Both recently celebrated 10 years with us, continuously setting a high standard for customer service and integrity.”

As First Vice President, Shackelford manages the Deposit Operations Department where she oversees customer service, deposit maintenance, bank statement generation, and cash management support.  Thesmar manages the Accounting Department, coordinates internal and external audits and processes payroll. Prior to joining Paragon, Shackelford was a Treasury Management Support Manger at a local community bank, while Thesmar was a VP Controller at a local bank.

Shackelford received her associate’s degree in business data processing from State Technical Institute at Memphis (now Southwest Tennessee Community College). She is a decade-long member and supporter of the Great Smoky Mountains Association and enjoys indoor and outdoor home improvement projects. In her free time, she watches the Memphis Grizzlies and Redbirds and spends time with her family and four granddaughters.

Thesmar graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration. As a certified accountant, she is a member of AICPA and TSCPA. She volunteers by serving in various roles with the Junior League of Memphis, Le Bonheur Club, Memphis Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association and Junior League of Memphis Garden Club. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and traveling.
