Paragon Participates in Annual Student Food Drive for the Seventh Year

Paragon Bank announced that it is accepting donations for the 7th Annual Mid-South Food Bank Student Food Drive at its four banking centers throughout November. In 2013, Paragon collected more than $14,500 in monetary donations and over 1,400 pounds of food, which equated to 44,463 meals donated to families in need through the Mid-South Food Bank.

Donations of non-perishable food items can be made at any of Paragon’s four locations between now and November 28.  Banking centers are located at:

·       Paragon Place – 6300 Poplar Ave.

·       Fountain Place – 5400 Poplar Ave.

·       Saddle Creek – 7600 Poplar Ave.

·       Grove Park – 4515 Poplar Ave.

“We were thrilled by the outpouring of donations received during last year’s food drive, and we thank our customers, employees and members of the community for their generous contributions,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “We encourage everyone to join our effort and support the crucial mission of Mid-South Food Bank: providing food to those in need.”

The Student Food Drive is a food drive conducted by Mid-South area high school students to benefit the Mid-South Food Bank. In addition to collecting food for those in need, the drive promotes volunteerism and community involvement, and gives students the opportunity to set a “real life” example of how to get things done through teamwork. The food goes to the Mid-South Food Bank for distribution to its member agencies throughout the area, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth programs, rehabilitation and residential centers, senior programs, daycares and schools.
