Paragon Hosts Bodine School Art in Saddle Creek Branch

10-17-12

Paragon National Bank will display artwork from Bodine School in its Saddle Creek branch (7600 Poplar Avenue) throughout the month of October. Bodine School, located in Germantown, provides an educational experience that focuses on teaching Mid-South children with dyslexia to read and succeed. Paragon worked with art teacher Lori Wakefield to select and display art by 24 students in the first through seventh grades to help commemorate the school’s 40th anniversary, as well as highlight Dyslexia Awareness Month.

“Paragon is honored to display the artwork of Bodine’s students to help kick off the school’s anniversary celebration,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Paragon. “In addition to highlighting the talent of this tremendous group of students, we hope this exhibit helps shine a light on the important work the school is doing in our community.”

The student’s artwork, inspired by Greek mythology and comprised of encaustic paintings done in melted crayon, will be on display in the main lobby of the Saddle Creek branch until October 31st.

The imaginative artwork was created by Tara Booher and Emiko Dallas in first grade; Kendell Philley and Lilly Graham in second grade; Wilson Ridenour, Sydney Smith and Lila Ruhland in third grade; Carson Bryant, Mia Bomarito, Reagan Killebrew, Magen Sauer, Haiden Miller and Grace Goode in fourth grade; Emma Sands, Julian Cullen, Grant Woodall, Callaway Gibbs, Jackson Thornton, Shyler Brown and Alex Goode in fifth grade; Eric Lichterman, Liam Zdravecky and Wyatt Philley in sixth grade; and Jacob Cardenas in seventh grade.

Based in Germantown, Tenn., the Bodine School provides an independent, educational experience that allows the dyslexic mind to thrive through a challenging and thought-provoking curriculum. The school’s mission is to lead the Mid-South in teaching children with dyslexia to read and succeed. For more information, visit bodineschool.org.
