06-18-12
Chief Executive Officer Robert Shaw announced the appointment of Mike A. Edwards as its President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Paragon National Bank. In his new role, Edwards is responsible for the continued development of Paragon’s loan and deposit lines of business, as well as enhancing existing customer relationships and establishing new connections.
“I have known Mike personally and professionally for over 25 years and have a great amount of respect for his accomplishments as a financial services leader,” said Shaw. “His familiarity with and commitment to our local community, as well as his demonstrated success as a banking executive with a strong customer focus make him uniquely qualified to fulfill this new role on Paragon’s executive team. I am excited to add Mike to our talented team.”
Edwards’ career in banking and financial services spans more than 30 years at a regional financial institution in Tennessee, including 25 years directly serving the Mid-South region. While there, he held many key leadership positions and helped oversee expansion within several markets. Edwards received his bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in finance and accounting from Rhodes College and attended the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and the Barrett School of Banking at the University of Memphis. He currently serves as a member of The Orpheum Theatre Memphis board and the Shelby Farms Park Conservancy board, and is the 2011 Chair Elect of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra board. Paragon National Bank is the Memphis region’s most service-oriented and locally focused bank.
Paragon provides individuals and small to mid-sized businesses and their owners with a comprehensive package of both business and personal banking solutions delivered online and in person.
