Paragon Collects Record Level of Donations During Food Drive

Paragon National Bank announced it collected more than $11,000 in monetary donations and over 1,000 food items during the 4th Annual Mid-South Food Bank Student Food Drive. The bank accepted donations for the food drive from employees and customers at its Paragon Place, Fountain Place, Saddle Creek and Grove Park branches from November 1 through December 2.

“Through the generosity of our team members and customers, Paragon collected a record number of food items and financial donations during this year’s Student Food Drive,” said Robert Shaw, President of Paragon National Bank. “We’re thrilled that we can provide this level of support to the Mid-South Food Bank at such a critical time.” 
  
Shaw and several staff members presented the check and food items to Estella Mayhue-Greer, President and CEO of the Mid-South Food Bank, during the recent Action News 5 Holiday Food Drive on December 7. 
  
The Student Food Drive is a food drive conducted by Mid-South area high school students to benefit the Mid-South Food Bank. In addition to collecting food for those in need, the drive promotes volunteerism and community involvement, and gives students the opportunity to set a “real life” example of how to get things done through teamwork. The food goes to the Mid-South Food Bank for distribution to its member agencies throughout the area, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth programs, rehabilitation and residential centers, senior programs, daycares and schools.
