Paragon Adds to Commercial Lending Team

03-06-08

Paragon National Bank announced that Emily Friedman has joined their team as a commercial lender.

“We feel very fortunate to now have Emily on our team,” said Gordin McMurtry, Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at Paragon National Bank. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with her in the past, and I’m especially pleased that she’s come to Paragon because she’s such an experienced lender, and her contact base is very impressive.”

Friedman has over thirty years of experience in banking, and she specializes in meeting and exceeding sales goals and maintaining an established network of professional contacts and relationships.  Friedman earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., with an emphasis on finance.  She is also a graduate of the Tennessee Banker’s School and the National Commercial Lending School.  She has served as the chairperson of various committees in the National Association of Bank Women, to which she has belonged since 1981.

“A major part of the reason I came to Paragon is their emphasis on staying local,” Friedman said.  “They make local decisions and I think that’s best because it’s Memphians who really know the Memphis market.”
