Paragon Bank Celebrates 20 Years of Service and Community Engagement
04-08-25
Paragon Bank is celebrating its 20th anniversary all throughout 2025, and on Thursday, March 27, we hosted our anniversary celebration with many of the clients and friends who have been with us from the start. The celebration included remarks by Paragon Board Chair, Craig Weiss, and Paragon’s President, CEO and Founder, Robert Shaw. We were honored to have Rabbi Micah Greenstein, who was also present at Paragon’s 2005 grand opening, say a blessing and share very special remarks about the significance of a 20th anniversary.
“As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of Paragon Bank, it is with deep gratitude that we reflect on the remarkable journey we have taken, and the significant milestones achieved along the way. Founded in 2005 by nine experienced bankers, we have grown to almost $900 million in total assets with offices in six different markets and over 120 team members spread among nine states,” said Robert Shaw, President and Chief Executive Officer. “As the definition of Paragon means, we have strived to create a model of excellence for our team members, our customers, our shareholders, and our communities. We’re proud of our continued growth, and were thrilled that our employees, customers, friends and community could come out and celebrate with us.”
Special events have been taking place throughout the year and will continue to do so. In February, Paragon partnered with Make-A-Wish Mid-South and granted its 20th wish, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to making dreams come true for children in need. In March, Team Members built and manned stations at Spring Jam, a spring break-adjacent event organized and hosted by the Neighborhood Christian Center, a partnership now in its 11th year.
Paragon has always encouraged its employees to be active in the community through the bank-sponsored Assisting the Community Through Service (ACTS) program. Through ACTS, each employee is granted 40 hours of paid time to support local, regional and national nonprofit organization of their choosing.
Through the end of 2024, Team Paragon spent 2,672 hours serving the community, up 14% from 2023. Roughly 96% of Team Paragon participated in the ACTS program, serving 89 organizations across six states. Since the inception of the ACTS program in 2008, Paragon Bank employees have spent a total of 19,769 hours in service of the community.
“Working for a company that values community service enough to create an entire program dedicated to giving its employees time off to volunteer has a huge impact on our culture,” said Mark Nance, First Vice President of Treasury Management. “It fosters a sense of service to the community, which then extends to service to each other. It creates opportunities outside the normal workday to build relations in the community.”
Team culture is an important pillar of Paragon Bank. In 2024, Paragon was once again named a “Best Places to Work” by the Memphis Business Journal, a “Top Places to Work” by The Commercial Appeal, and a “Best Bank to Work For” by American Banker. This comes off being named as a “Culture Creator” award winner from the Germantown, TN Chamber of Commerce.
As Paragon Bank celebrates two decades of success and community engagement, it remains dedicated to its mission of providing exceptional banking services while making a meaningful impact in the communities it serves.
