Paragon Bank Displays Environmental-themed Artwork by St. Louis Catholic School

03-09-18

Paragon Bank is displaying unique artwork from a variety of St. Louis Catholic School students in its Saddle Creek Banking Center (7600 Poplar Avenue) throughout the month of March.

“We are thrilled to host these distinctive watercolor and recycled artwork pieces from the students at St. Louis Catholic School, as the Mid-South transitions into spring,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “These pieces not only brighten our office, but also put a smile on our customers’ faces.”

Paragon worked with St. Louis Catholic School art teacher, Robin Durden, to coordinate the exhibit, which features plastic flowers and watercolor trees.

“Enough plastic is thrown away each year to circle the Earth four times, so it was crucial for our students to learn the importance of recycling through this project,” said Durden. “Our students also experienced wet-on-wet watercolor painting, using India ink and observing nature in its truest form, through their imaginations.”

Artists include third grade students Abigail Moore, Ainsley Baker, Anna Wilson, Ella Houston, John Fox, Kate Tancrell, Olivia Candiotto, Parks Duffee, Paulina Soefker, Sydney Clunan; and junior high students Alaina Pierotti, Andrew Wade, Anne Grimes, Audrey Zweig, Ava Witmer, Chase Andreini, Dottie Young, Hadley Donaldson, Jane Fracchia, Johnny Droulliard, Lindsey Crossnine, Maggie Wood, Mary Beth Grimes, Mia Soefker, Sam Wallace.

St. Louis Catholic School has been a part of the Mid-South community for more than 50 years. With an academic, faith-based focus, St. Louis continues to be one of Memphis’ premier parish elementary schools.
