Paragon Bank Sees Significant Increase in Community Service Program, Employee Involvement

02-12-18

Paragon Bank today announced that its employees volunteered more than 1,531 hours with its Assisting the Community Through Service (ACTS) program in 2017. Through this program, every Paragon employee is granted 40 hours of paid time to support nonprofit organizations in the community.

In addition to the allotted time, employees are encouraged to volunteer outside of work hours. In 2017, 96 percent of employees participated in ACTS and spent an average of 16.6 hours volunteering.

“We feel that as a locally-owned bank, it is Paragon’s duty to give back to the community that gives so much to us,” said Robert Shaw, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon Bank. “Paragon is grateful to have the resources that allow our employees to participate in a program like ACTS. With a consistent, annual increase in participation, I could not be prouder of the various services our team provides. It’s an honor to know that we’re making a difference.”

Since the program’s inception in 2008, employees have logged more than 7,300 hours volunteering at a variety of nonprofits. In 2017, 50 local organizations were positively impacted by ACTS in the Memphis community, including Make-A-Wish Mid-South, Memphis Child Advocacy Center, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee, United Way of the Mid-South, Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, Boy Scouts of America and the Dorothy Day House, to name a few.

“Paragon continuously provides opportunities for each team member to volunteer in our community,” said Haley Overcast, Marketing Manager at Paragon Bank. “It’s an honor to facilitate these partnerships and initiatives on behalf of the team.”
