Paragon Sets Donation Record During Annual Food Drive

Paragon National Bank collected $14,200 and 568 pounds of food for the Mid-South
Food Bank during the 5th Annual Mid-South Food Bank Student Food
Drive. The bank accepted donations from customers and employees throughout
November at its Paragon Place, Fountain Place, Saddle Creek and Grove Park
banking centers.

“We are grateful for the
generosity of Paragon customers and employees, who helped us once again collect
a record level of monetary contributions and food items during this year’s
Mid-South Food Bank Student Food Drive,” said Robert Shaw, CEO of Paragon
National Bank. “Our team enjoys assisting the organization through volunteer
efforts throughout the year and we’re pleased that we could lend support to the
food bank at such a critical time.”

COO of Paragon National Bank, and several staff members presented a check and
food donations to Estella Mayhue-Greer, President and CEO of the Mid-South Food
Bank, during the recent Action News 5
Holiday Food Drive on December 5.

The Student Food Drive is a food
drive conducted by Mid-South area high school students to benefit the Mid-South
Food Bank. In addition to collecting food for those in need, the drive promotes
volunteerism and community involvement, and gives students the opportunity to
set a “real life” example of how to get things done through teamwork. The food
goes to the Mid-South Food Bank for distribution to its member agencies
throughout the area, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth
programs, rehabilitation and residential centers, senior programs, daycares and
schools.
