Paragon partners with Junior Achievement to bring JA BizTown and FinancePark to students at Binghampton Christian Academy
03-09-23
In January 2023, Junior Achievement “JA” opened its new headquarters in the heart of the Binghampton neighborhood. Paragon sponsors the 5th grade class at Binghampton Christian Academy “BCA” and realized their students had never attended any of JA’s financial education programs. We reached out to JA to see if we could help make a connection between them and BCA, and they gladly said yes!
Paragon volunteers were some of the first to serve inside their new headquarters when BCA’s 4th through 6th graders got to participate in JA BizTown. JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. The next week, Paragon volunteers got to work with BCA’s 7th and 8th graders in JA Finance Park. JA Finance Park is an innovation in experiential education designed to engage middle school students for life and work in the real world.
