1. What types of transactions will trigger an alert?
All transactions (including ATM usage) will trigger an alert. Be aware that the amount sent is the preauthorized amount. Restaurants preauthorize the amount of the meal, excluding the tip. Gas Stations, depending on the payment method you choose (credit or debit), can preauthorize the actual sale amount or any amount from $1 to $100.
2. What if I get a new phone number?
You have the ability of adding, deleting, and renewing devices as you wish all from within the Guardian system. Simply log in and make the necessary changes.
3. What do I do if the transaction is fraudulent?
Reply to the alert with the eight digit code provided. If there are multiple fraudulent alerts, be sure to reply with all the correct codes one by one. After you submit your reply, expect a call from the Fraud Center.
4. What if I don’t want to be alerted at certain times (sleeping at night, etc.)?
There’s a Do Not Disturb feature that can queue your alerts and send them only when the system determines it’s outside the Do Not Disturb time window. To set up this feature, log into the system and click on the Preferences tab.
5. Anything else?
Be mindful of any and all recurring charges you have tied to your card, such as subscriptions and memberships. You will receive an alert when the payment is authorized even though you didn’t swipe your card anywhere.
