A Letter to Our Shareholders

We are pleased to report net income of $215 thousand or $.06 per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2011, which compares very favorably to a net loss of $218 thousand or ($.06) per share for the quarter ended June 30, 2010. Net income was $319 thousand for the first half of 2011 or $.09 per share versus a loss of $836 thousand and ($.23) per share during the same period in 2010. The improvement in our performance can be attributed to increasing the core earnings capacity of Paragon by increasing net interest income, increasing fee income, and reducing expenses.

Paragon Supports Relay for Life for Fifth Consecutive Year

Paragon National Bank had more than 50 employees and their family members participate in the 2011 Relay for Life, held at the Germantown Municipal Park on April 30. While this is the first year Paragon has participated in the Germantown event, it’s the fifth consecutive year that the bank has supported the cause in honor of its employees who are cancer survivors, as well as those who have lost their valiant battle with this terrible disease.

Paragon National Bank Grants Sixth Wish

Paragon National Bank recently partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Midsouth for the sixth time to grant the wish of a child. More than 25 Paragon employees volunteered their time and resources to transform the bank's Fountain Place location into Paragon's Sport Plex for eight-year old Lazarus Allen, whose wish was to go on a Disney Cruise.

Paragon Hosts Fifth Annual Shareholders’ Meeting

Paragon National Bank hosted its fifth annual shareholders’ meeting June 24, 2010, at The Dixon Gallery and Gardens. Shareholders, directors, and employees gathered in the Winegardner Auditorium for a presentation by President & CEO Robert Shaw about Paragon’s 2009 accomplishments and financials, as well as goals for 2010.

Team Paragon Visits LeBonheur to Deliver Handmade Blankets

Paragon employees recently visited LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center to deliver no-sew fleece blankets to the patients. The blankets were made as part of Paragon’s Employee Appreciation Week; all employees were offered ACTS (Assisting the Community Through Service) time during the workday to work on the blankets. Paragon’s ACTS program allows employees 40 paid workday hours per year with which to volunteer for approved organizations.
